I would like to begin by thanking Dr Bong and the Government of VietNam for the superb work they have done to organise this conference. I thank you for the countless hours that have been devoted to bringing us together today. I would also like to acknowledge the generous contributions of the United States of America and the European Union, and the intensive engagement of the United Nations System, the OiE and the World Bank.
